Earlier this week, an appeal was made to the US Supreme Court to take up the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals’ recent decision upholding Michigan’s 2004 Marriage Amendment.
This is not un-expected.
The US Supreme Court will review the request. Since there are competing lower court rulings, it is very possible the Supreme Court will take up this case, and then issue a ruling by next summer.
